  • Diagnosis and treatment of early inflammatory arthritis

  • Long-term management of the inflammatory arthritides (such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis )

  • Diagnosis and management of polymyalgia rheumatica

  • Diagnosis and management of connective tissue diseases such as lupus, Sjogren’s Syndrome and  vasculitis (e.g. ANCA vasculitis and Giant Cell Arteritis)

  • Diagnosis and management of acute and chronic gout

  • Diagnosis management of osteoarthritis

  • Diagnosis of non-inflammatory musculoskeletal disorders, fibromyalgia and soft tissue disorders (e.g. bursitis, tendinitis).

​Ben specialises in the management of complex connective tissue diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Sjogren’s Syndrome and vasculitis, providing a regional, tertiary specialist rheumatology service for the North West of England from his NHS clinic at the Kellgren Centre for Rheumatology, Manchester Royal Infirmary (MRI).

In his NHS practice Ben also manages the award winning biologics service  for high-cost drug therapies.
